In the heart of the Roero hills, where nature meets passion, we bring energy and value every day.
THE ROERO AND THE TERRITORY
Groupe Agricole Roero was born with the aim of managing and enhancing the family properties, but given its natural vocation for growth it has become a reality that covers over 25 hectares, which produces the Tonda Gentile hazelnut of Piedmont and which markets it through the company Santa Lucia Farmhouse.
Passion, love for the land, hard work, and nature’s many facets allow us to create our trademark, our most precious nugget, our gold, our “GOLD OF LANGA.”
Our round hazelnut is the product of a sustainable and ambitious project, at times risky, but if it’s true that the result is what counts, we’re on the right track. We combine ancestral practices, from manually cutting weeds to prevent pests from establishing themselves and allowing our trees to breathe freely, to the use of vinegar, a valid substitute for the now overrated use of herbicides to control the onset of harmful pests, to strictly manual sucker removal to avoid further stressing our hazelnut groves and having to resort to overly impactful phytosanitary remedies to treat any “wounds” to the trunk and the overall structure of the tree.
These responsible practices, which guarantee a minimal environmental impact by preserving the health of our environment and the organoleptic qualities of our hazelnuts, go hand in hand with innovation: our cutting-edge equipment is another trademark we’re proud of. From the use of high-performance motors to minimize their presence on the hazelnut grove, to a low and brief roasting temperature that gives a burnished, rustic color to each of our nuggets, nature bestows upon us.

Among the various conquests, the youngest, perhaps the most ambitious and at the same time the one that requires the most attention and physical prowess: we like to call it that, “the newborn”, yes it has only existed since 2015 but it has already made great strides: the Groupe Agricole Roero.
It was initially created to manage the family land, but as often happens, we let it get out of hand and today it includes over 25 hectares within its boundaries, ranging from hazelnut groves to truffle grounds.
Not stingy with all that completes our reality today, sipping a coffee, almost as a game between two friends, we decided to take even more advantage of what nature continues to give us every year: from the renowned IGP round hazelnut of the Langhe, to the prized white truffle of our hills.
